Bluff decay – When will all roads be maintained?

Who must we appeal to about overgrown verges, weeds growing in roadside gutters and stormwater drains?

EDITOR – Well said, Stephen Hunter (letter published in the Southlands Sun edition dated 3 June).

I also took photos of the same pavement during the month of April and yet nothing has been done.

Who must we appeal to about overgrown verges, weeds growing in roadside gutters and stormwater drains? When telephoning the various departments everyone seems to pass the buck – it’s not parks and gardens, not the roads department, city engineers or stormwater maintenance (which is just around the corner in Smith Drive).

The pavement in Club Drive is grossly overgrown, which is such a pity when Councillor Duncan du Bois spent so much time and effort years ago to make the pavement a reality. A large property in Marine Drive also has grass growing onto the road.

Tozi Mthethwa, the head of communications at eThekwini Muncipality has stated that contracts have been signed and work will commence shortly – the question is when?

The group of workers in ‘red’ keep Tara Road free from all the above and their hard work is much appreciated but there are many more roads that require their attention.
