Drunk, unlicensed driver crashed into three cars

The driver was taken to the district surgeon for blood samples.

A DRUNK and  unlicensed driver caused havoc on Sunday, 15 May when he crashed into three cars at the intersection of Swinton and Leicester Road, Mobeni.

A patrolling Montclair police officer who was performing his crime prevention duties came across the accident.

He was approached by one of the affected drivers who said all the vehicles that were hit were stationary at the robot when they were struck from behind by the driver who was apparently driving at high speed. “The impact of the crash forced the car to hit into the others causing a domino effect collision. The speeding driver was tested with a breathalyzer and was found to be over the limit,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Lt Dereck Vijiam.It was also noted that the driver was not in possession of a driver’s licence. He was arrested and charged for drunk driving and driving without a license.

He was taken to the district surgeon for blood samples.
