R50,000 cash seized in house and business robbery arrests

Various goods and R50,000 in cash were recovered from the scene.

JOINT forces from Brighton Beach and Montclair police saw the successful arrest of three wanted thieves on Thursday, 12 May for business robbery and house breaking.

The trio aged between 22 and 36-years-old were found on the premises in Lamontville where they kept all the stolen goods taken from homes in Montclair and Brighton Beach areas. Various goods and R50,000 in cash were recovered from the scene. The men were arrested and are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrates Court soon.

The KZN provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni praised the members for arresting the men. “Business robberies is a huge problem affecting our community and the economy of our province, I commend our members for their dedication that led to the arrests. We urge the community to not be afraid to provide us with information about the criminals in the community so that it will be easy to arrest them,” she said.
