The meeting which was presided over by group executive Maureen Lavis was opened by Nora with the WI prayer, on a warm afternoon.

The usual president’s and treasurer’s report were read out, and it was noted with regret that owing to ill health, Angela Croucamp is standing down as treasurer. She will be sorely missed, and was wished better health in the future.

M Lavis then did the adjudication and N Brown and Y Munro, having agreed to remain on as president and secretary respectively, were so inducted. S White agreed to stand in as treasurer, with the assistance of Angela, until a permanent treasurer could be found. Mrs Lavis thanked her for his. She then addressed the meeting, and asked for suggestions for fundraising and passed on other news from the Federation.

The many raffles were won by Sigrid White, H Deme (2), D du Plessis, and Y Lane. Y Lane was wished a happy birthday for 22 March and requested to take a gift.

After a delicious tea, and thanks to Mrs Lavis for attending the meeting , and thanks to N Brown for the beautiful wrapping of gifts, the meeting closed with the recital of the Mary Stewart Collect.
