Police partners praised for input

Thanks given to local people and groups.

A PRIZE-giving ceremony on Monday, 1 February honoured partners who assisted Brighton Beach SAPS during its festive season campaigns.

The Brighton Beach SAPS division media monitoring team thanked those involved in their Operation Fiela 2015/16 festive season communications initiatives, including eThekwini Municipality, the department of health, Park Patrol Security and ADT Security.

Framed media articles were awarded by station commander, Colonel Carel Grobler to these roleplayers.

Throughout the station’s 16 Days of Activism campaign six operational activities were held and brochures were handed out throughout the suburb.

“Focus areas were child safety and protection, protection of older persons and the prevention of domestic violence. A total of 8,500 brochures were distributed over a three-day period.

We are thankful for the support we received during the media monitoring initiatives of Fiela 2015/2016. The involvement of other government departments and the business sector has proven that the SAPS can achieve more when we stand together and unite against those with criminal intentions,” said Brighton Beach SAPS communications officer, Captain Louise Le Roux.
