Hidden under the mattress was a packet containing 51 straws of suspected heroin.

SUSPICIONS arose when two patrolling members from Wentworth SAPS noticed a man slip into a garage on 28 December.

W/O Craig Brigetta and Cst Thandi Ndlovu, stopped the vehicle and followed the suspicious-looking man and noticed two men sitting around a lit candle in the garage. W/O Brigetta pushed the door open and found the suspect lying on a sponge mattress.

Hidden under the mattress was a packet containing 51 straws of suspected heroin. Loose coins, amounting to about R300 was also found, which is believed to be from drug sales.
