Montclair residents warned to bolt up

Montclair CPF have warned residents to bolt up, easily accessible areas such as the lower part of the security gates.

FOLLOWING a spike in housebreakings, Montclair CPF warns residents to bolt up easily accessible areas such as the lower part of security gates.

Security gates are bent from the bottom corner up, allowing criminals sufficient space for them to kick the bottom of the door and gain entry.

On 3 January, a resident from Sandpiper Street in Yellowwood Park experienced a break in that was done in the same manner. He came home to find his security gate bent up and the door broken.

To prevent this from happening, Montclair CPF advises residents to place a slide bolt at the bottom of the gate, hindering the criminals.
