Carnage on Bluff roads claims a life

Three crashes on the Bluff over the weekend.

ONE motorist was killed and six people were injured in collisions on the Bluff over the weekend.Near midnight on Saturday, 19 December, a woman was killed in a head-on collision at the corner of Tara and Club Roads.

Rescue Care paramedics found the woman trapped in the wreckage with severe injuries which she had succumbed to before their arrival.

The three other people in the crash suffered minor to moderate injuries, according to Rescue Care. They were stabilised and taken to hospital.

Early that night, at about 6pm, two people were injured when the car they were travelling in rolled on Marine Drive.

Rescue Care paramedics used advanced life support to treat the duo and took them to hospital.

On Sunday night, a man was seriously injured on Bluff Road when his car rolled and burst into flames. The cause of the crash is not known but, at about 10.45pm, the car rolled, hit a light pole and wall and ejected the driver. The vehicle came to stop on its roof, then burst into flames.

Both Netcare 911 and Rescue Care paramedics attended the scene near Shamrock Road.

The man was treated for his injuries before being taken to hospital.
