THURSDAY, 10 DECEMBER: Montclair Senior Citizens Club meets at the Montclair Methodist Church hall at 9am for 9.30am. Refreshments will be supplied by the club members to pay the usual R5 towards tea. Stainbank WI choir will entertain.
SATURDAY, 12 DECEMBER: South African Writers’ Circle holds its monthly meeting at the Westville library (room G4) at 11am. It will be a bring and share where those attending will read out their own work, sharing it with everyone. A literary quiz will follow. Non-members are very welcome. Take a plate of snacks. SATURDAY, 19 DECEMBER: Kloof Gorge day hike upstream to two waterfalls with the Mountain Backpackers Club. Hikers will leave at 8.30am from the picnic site carpark. There is a small entrance fee. THURSDAY, 21 JANUARY: KwaZulu-Natal branch of the South African Military History Society meets at 7pm for 7.30pm. The venue will be the Murray Lecture Theatre, Department of Civil Engineering, University of KwaZulu-Natal Howard College campus. The speakers will be a team from Glenwood High School on ‘Durban/Natal sportsmen in World War 1’ and Adrian Nisbett on ‘The Von Blücher brothers and the invasion of Crete’.
