Sign up for museum volunteer training

Training takes place in February, 2016. Closing date for applications is Monday, 11 January 2016 at 3pm.

DO you want to contribute to your community in the fields of science, education and tourism?

If you have some qualifications in conservation, tourism or marketing and can’t find a job, but would like to gain extra skills or experience in these fields, consider volunteering in a museum.

As a volunteer you can make an important contribution to the Durban Natural Science Museum, working on different projects. This could be helping in one of the many departments or increasing visitors enjoyment and understanding of collections at the facility.

Volunteer training takes place in February 2016. The cost of training is R120, which is to be paid on the first day of training. The cost covers notes and provides membership to the Museum Friends Society for the year.

To be considered for the volunteer programme and to enroll, collect an application form from the Durban Natural Science Museum, first floor, City Hall, Smith Street entrance.

Closing date for applications is Monday, 11 January 2016 at 3pm.

For more information, call Busi Gumede, Sindi Nzama or Theshnie Naidoo at the information desk on 031-311-2256 or visit the museum.
