Wentworth teens take up cancer awareness pledge

On Saturday, 14 November they will host the event in partnership with Wentworth Angels and Team Chad.

HELP Wentworth teens give back to their community by supporting their cancer awareness day.

“Wentworth has a multitude of social and health concerns and collectively through community initiatives and outreach programmes, the community is trying to raise awareness in the South Durban Basin on a variety of targeted campaigns,” said Wentworth Angels founder and director, Tracey Williams.

Wentworth teenagers have taken up the cause and will host a childhood cancer awareness day aimed at showing the personal impact on the lives of people with cancer and those supporting them.

On Saturday, 14 November they will host the event in partnership with Wentworth Angels and Team Chad. They call on the community and local businesses to help them through sponsorship or donations of time, expertise, money or equipment.

They are looking for help with hair cutting, shaving or spraying, a 2k fun walk, face painting, a jumping castle, catered meal for about 80 people, refreshments, 10 golfers, a photographer and a DJ.

According to Williams, all money raised from the event will go to a worthy candidate identified to receive financial assistance in the SDB.

Call Tracey Williams on 074-703-1393, Elizabeth Manning on 082-387-8428 or Andrea Norris on 078-865-5844 to assist.
