Municipal jobs not for sale

Don't pay for job applications.

ETHEKWINI municipality reaffirms that municipal jobs are not for sale, as fraudsters continue to target vulnerable residents.

A recent increase in false job adverts has the municipality concerned. At no point will any potential municipal recruit be asked to pay for a job and the details of anyone asking for payment for such should be handed over to the integrity and investigations unit or police.

All municipal jobs are posted on www.durban.gov.za, which allows for online applications and includes legitimate contact details. They are also advertised every in the Metro Ezasegagasini newspaper and some local newspapers.

“Our employment policies and practices are committed to developing a multi-cultural and diverse workforce that is non-racist, non-sexist, and non-discriminatory,” said deputy city manager of human resources, Dumisile Nene.

Report any suspicious adverts or people to the municipality’s city integrity and investigations unit on 0800-202-020 or call the police on 10111.
