Hostel residents gunned down at shopping centre

They were unaware they were being followed.

TWO Glebelands hostel residents were shot and killed on Saturday, 12 September while visiting a local grocery outlet along Kenyon Howden Road, Montclair.

Two friends entered the Shoprite Checkers to purchase grocery items at about 3.15pm, unaware they were being followed.

After concluding their purchases and exiting the outlet, they were followed by three men. En route to their vehicle, shots were fired at them. Two men, aged 53 and 26, sustained mostly head injuries and were declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

The trio fled the scene in a white Toyota. The murder and motive for the attack is currently being investigated by SAPS.
