‘Men for Change’ policemen stop traffic

Women's month initiative aims to protect women.

‘MEN for Change’ members took to the streets of the Bluff to campaign for the protection and safety of women on Wednesday, 19 August.

Starting at about 6.30am, the officers from Brighton Beach SAPS station handed out 500 brochures to motorists and pedestrians at the intersection of Tara and Grays Inn roads.

As part of the SAPS Men for Change group within the Brighton Beach cluster policing area, the men hoped to make an impact in the lives of women within the community.

The brochures listed safety tips for women when in public and at home as part of Brighton Beach SAPS’ women’s month activities.

“Brighton Beach SAPS management thanks the members involved for their active participation on the day and enthusiasm showed,” said communications officer, Captain Louise Le Roux.
