WI members share sentimental attachments

Adult education: First May Scott, second Valerie Wagner.

WOODLANDS Women’s Institute’s (WI) August meeting was opened by president Maureen Lavis who welcomed everyone, especially hardworking competition judge, Linda Melson.

After the Mary Stewart Collect was recited, the business part of the meeting took place with mention of the Evelyn House raffle which will be drawn at Congress in Howick next month.

Tea was served and thanks extended to the members on tea duty for the delicious snacks. Members had been asked to take along a prized or treasured item to talk about briefly and it was so heartwarming to hear why each item spoken about was so special to that person.
