ANYONE with information on the late night hit and run death of a man in Merebank on Saturday, 1 August is urged to contact Wentworth SAPS.
The man was killed when he was hit by a car at the corner of Marine and Badulla Drives on the Bluff at about 11.40pm.
A witness told police the victim was hit by a dark-coloured car with an unknown registration number. Park Patrol Security alerted the police to the incident and responding paramedics certified the man dead at the scene. Police found him face down in the road.
He was wearing a hooded jacket and dark navy jeans. He had suffered an injury to the back of his head.
According to Wentworth SAPS communications officer, Lieutenant MP Gumede, a case of culpable homicide is being investigated by Warrant Officer PC Pillay. Anyone with information should contact W/O Pillay on 031-451-6217 during office hours.
