Safety message shared with seniors

Police teach seniors about dangers in the community.

THE Rosewood Senior Citizens Club (RSCC) in Montclair was educated on safety by Montclair SAPS officers at their meeting on Wednesday, 5 August.

Montclair SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Poobalan Marimuthu addressed the gathering of about 20 senior citizens, offering safety tips and asking about their concerns.

Included in the talk were emergency numbers and tips on con artists, noting suspicious people and cars and safety when at home, at a mall, in the car, at the bank and while walking. W/O Marimuthu urged the citizens to be aware and protect themselves.

The RSCC started in 2010 and meets every second Wednesday at 10am at the Montclair recreational hall. The group’s motto is love, care and share. Anyone interested in the group should call chairman, Mr Pillay on 031-462-9582.
