THURSDAY, 13 AUGUST: KZN branch of the South African Military History Society meets at 7pm for 7.30pm at the Murray lecture theatre, department of civil engineering, UKZN Howard College campus. Speakers will be Jesse Wesseloo on ‘The world of Admiral de Ruyter’ and Stephen Coan on ‘The Great Escape: The South African connection’. Visitors are welcome to attend. THURSDAY, 13 AUGUST: Montclair Senior Citizens meet at Montclair Methodist Church hall from 9am for 9.30am. All seniors from the area are welcome as visitors. There is a R5 charge for tea and raffle tickets at R1 each.

SATURDAY, 15 AUGUST: South African Writers’ Circle monthly meeting in Westville library’s room G3 at 11am. Published author Ian Tennent will talk on ‘write like a boss’. This will be followed by a workshop entitled ‘I am absolutely entitled by my own point of view! Or am I?’ led by Ian. Members and and non-members (R20) are most welcome.
