SATURDAY, 20 JUNE: South African Writers Circle meets in Durban North in celebration of Short Story Day Africa. The meeting is at The Rock Church Church hall, 1 Tamarind Close, Sunningdale, Durban North at 11am. There will be an interactive presentation and short story elements will be discussed. A workshop will follow where members and non-members will apply their writing skills on the topic of ‘water’. Non-members are welcome. Take along a plate of snacks. Members R10, non-members R20. THURSDAY, 25 JUNE: Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa’s Mended Hearts support meeting at 2pm at Life Entabeni Hospital conference room. Guest speaker is Zaainab Abasoomar, a pharmacist at Life Healthcare. The meeting is free to attend, open to all, and is of interest to those who have suffered a cardiovascular disease or stroke event or know of a family member or a friend who has suffered such.
