Craft morning at Stainbank WI

A list of names was taken from members who will bring articles for valuation during our August meeting at a cost of R5 each only two per members only.

STAINBANK Women’s Institute president, Arlene Greenfield opened the monthly meeting with a big welcome to all members and visitors.

After the singing of Unity in great voice, the treasurer/secretary read out the minutes and correspondence.

Shirley Kruger in place of Donna Chelin had a few bits of information and as usual a few jokes.

The charity today was the WI residential home Evelyn House. Many thanks to the members who joined in for coffee at the La Latte – it was great fun and Stainbank hopes to have many more members next time. The president was given permission by the executive member to sign the vote to retain the present federation president for another year.

A big thank you was extended to Sheila von der Zon for all the work and effort she put into the craft morning. It proved very popular among all members. There were a number of birthdays and anniversaries this month and a very special one for long-time member June Andersen. While the scribe will not mention her age, she was wished a great day. Members’ thoughts are with Joy McDonald who has not been too well.

Next month is birthday month again. How quickly it comes around. Stainbank WI hopes to see all members with a plate of snacks and friends.

The meeting closed with the results of the money board, raffles and the swindle.

The President read the Mary Stewart Collect and closed the meeting.
