Montclair SAPS arrest Higginson hijackers

A passing police vehicle saw the hijack in progress and chased the men to Mobeni Heights shopping centre where two hijackers were arrested.

POLICE are appealing to a woman who was involved in an attempted hijacking to open a case at Montclair SAPS.

On Wednesday, 20 May about 3.30pm a woman was stopped at the traffic lights at Higginson Highway.
She was approached by three men. One hijacker produced a firearm. However, passing police vehicle saw the hijack in progress and chased the men to Mobeni Heights shopping centre where two hijackers were arrested. Police found a firearm and a knife in their possession and questioned the men, who admitted to the attempted hijacking. The men said they planned to burn the woman’s VW Polo at a funeral on Saturday. One of the hijackers is still at large.
