Sponsor Croatia walk for benefit of children’s home

Bluffites walk to raise money for children.

BLUFFITE Sharon Lotz is adding another 92km to her long walk to raise funds for Restmount Children’s Home, with her sights on Croatia this time round.

Lotz and her walking partner, Chris Jeeves walked 152km through Scotland in July 2013, and through this and other fundraising efforts, she has raised over R100,000 for Restmount. The home, which is in Underberg, takes groups of 30 school children who would otherwise not have the opportunity on sponsored holidays.

Along with friends Carol Tebbutt, Janet Offer and Karen Daniels, Lotz will now walk 92km through Croatia, starting on 2 July. The walk is expected to take five days.

“The other three walkers have taken up my challenge and motto of ‘every achievement starts with the decision to begin’, because they have never done any walking, but have risen to the challenge,” said Lotz.

The walkers are looking for sponsors per kilometre or donations for their walk. All funds raised go to Restmount. Email lotzsj@telkomsa.net or visit www.scotlandwalk2013@wordpress.com for information on the walk or Restmount Children’s Home or to make a donation.
