THE delayed ward-based draft budget and integrated development plan (IDP) review hearings are set to take place in the next two weeks, with the Bluff meeting scheduled for Thursday, 23 April.
The municipality originally cancelled the ward-based meetings and decided to only host four regionals due to the recent xenophobic attacks in the province. A decision was later made to reschedule the ward-based meetings as they were viewed as vital.
The Bluff/Merewent meeting is set to take place on Thursday, 23 April at a yet to be determined venue from 6pm. Go to www.durban.gov.za to see what venue will be selected.
“I would like to encourage residents to attend the hearings as it is their right to voice their opinion. All comments and suggestions from the community are valuable and will be given the due consideration before the 2015/16 budget and IDP are approved and adopted,” said Mayor James Nxumalo.
