Audition for ‘Solider in the City’

Auditions for Durban candidates will be held at Glenwood Boys High School on Saturday, 18 April from 9am to 5pm.

AUDITIONS for the Performing Arts Network of South Africa’s (PANSA) Young Performers Project (YPP), Soldiers in the City’ take place this weekend.

It is a new home-grown work created by Themi Venturas and Iain ‘Ewok’ Robinson which engages with a new urban culture that is emerging in South Africa’s towns and cities; a new youth culture that includes slam poetry, urban dance, music and public artworks like graffiti, much like the Step Up movies.

The production will be staged at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre and the Hexagon Theatre. 

PANSA will hold auditions for Durban candidates at Glenwood Boys High School on Saturday, 18 April from 9am to 5pm.

For Pietermaritzburg and Midlands candidates auditions will be held at the Hexagon Theatre on Sunday, 19 April from 9am to 5pm.
Candidates will have to be available for the auditions for the whole day. Between 25 and 30 top performers who can sing, dance and act are being sought. 

They must be in high school. Wear comfortable clothing, flat shoes and take along refreshments.

All successful candidates will need to be available every weekend from 8 May to 28 June for rehearsals and from 29 June to 19 July for performances.
