HOPING to create a sense of community, the Bluff Boardriders Club hosted two successful events recently and plans to bring many more to the area.

On Saturday, 4 April the club hosted an Easter egg hunt on the beach, which included many fun activities such as an egg-and-spoon race, one legged hop race and backwards dash. “It’s always fantastic seeing the children play outdoors and having so much fun. Many Easter eggs were found and the Easter bunny was very generous,” said Bluff Boardriders member, Celeste Jacobs.

Prior to the Easter activities, the club hosted a beach clean-up on Saturday, 7 March, with participants given food and cool drink for their support. “We were amazed at how many bin bags were filled,” said Jacobs, who promised many more activities in the area with the aim of cleaning up the beaches and bringing pride and community spirit to the Bluff.

Sponsors for the events include Craig Janse van Rensburg, Fit4Life, Lisa’s Guesthouse, Rina’s Car Wash, Ansteys Beach Backpackers, Belinda Jacobs, Bluff Meat Supply, Donna Pronk, Heidi’s Café, THT Hospitality Training and Quiksilver.
