Crow visits Yellowwood Park WI

We meet at the Yellowwood Park Bowling Club on the last Monday of each month and we would love to have you visit us.

YELLOWWOOD Park Women’s Institute president Vanessa Wilesmith opened the meeting, which was also an AGM, with a welcome to executive member Maureen Lavis and Paul Hoyte from Crow.

After saying the Mary Stewart Collect, Paul then told members all about what was happening at Crow.

Crow stands for the Centre for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife and that is exactly what they do continuously. Animals are taken in daily for care and rehabilitated so that they can be re-released into the wild. The area is really fortunate to have this amazing wildlife institute which the public can visit when they host an open day once a month. It really is worth the visit. Fortunately the YWP WI was able to hand over to Paul a large donation of all sorts of items to assist with the running of Crow

After a delicious tea, the meeting proceeded with the AGM. Secretary Marsha Hart read last year’s minutes and treasurer Wendy Henderson handed out the balance sheet for the year, which shows the WI is solvent. Nominations were taken and YWP WI is pleased to announce that everyone who is on the top table and the committee plus all the other members who do that bit extra all agreed to stand again for another year. Many thanks to them all. A special thank you to judge Linda Melson, who also came up with the idea of fidget cushions which is the Federation of WI project for this year. The president read out her report for the year, confirming and reminding members of all the charity work the WI has done during the year and that will continue to be done in the future. Birthday members for April were Vanessa Wilesmith, a very special birthday and Bev Holthausen.
