Steriliser donations to improve ECD hygiene

THE Wentworth Early Childhood Development Forum (WECDF) has taken another step forward in its bid to improve health and hygiene, with a donation of nearly R40,000 worth of steriliser units.

The WECDF’s water, sanitation, health and hygiene programme aims to develop good practises at Wentworth ECD centres. The donation of Milton steriliser units aimed at catering for babies at these centres will go a long way to doing this.

“Up until the age of 12-months, a baby’s immune system is generally weaker and more vulnerable to infections. Infant feeding equipment in ECD centres that have not been properly cleaned can be a source of infection,” said Sister Roskruge from the Gateway Clinic, who is excited about the ongoing health programmes at Wentworth ECD centres.

The WECD is thankful for the sponsorship of the units, valued at R 37,899, by Incolabs.
