Victim support centre needs volunteers

The aim of the centre is to be a ‘first touch’ for people who need counselling after a trauma or crime incident.

THE Victim Support Centre (VSC) at Montclair police station urgently needs volunteers.
Legislation requires that police stations must have a victim support centre.

Volunteers are needed for four hours a day. The aim of the centre is to be a ‘first touch’ for people who need counselling after a trauma or crime incident. The VSC’s goal is to run full-time during office hours, but to do so, they need volunteers to help man the facility. They want to be able to have volunteers on call 24/7. Anyone who would like to volunteer, donate towards the VSC or assist with training can contact Brenda Neal on 082-449-8172 or Belinda Harcombe on 084-202-0130.
