Transnet warns of hoax port job scams

TRANSNET warns of hoax port job adverts, calling for applicants to pay for employment.

Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) is aware of recruitment adverts doing the rounds on social media platforms for jobs at ports within the company’s network. TPT has confirmed these have not been issued by them and have asked the public not to respond to these ads or pay money for any alleged Transnet job application.

In an emailed statement, Transnet officials said they do not require job applicants to pay money when applying for employment with the company and that all due diligence is followed by the company’s human resources department when positions are advertised.

They urge the public to report fraudulent activity on Transnet’s toll free fraud hotline 0800-003-056, email transnet@tip-offs.com or fax 0800-00-77-88.
