Help sought in rape case

Police believe he can assist to solve a case of rape that occurred at Stellawood Road in Umbilo.

BRIGHTON Beach family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit is searching for the man in the attached identikit.

Police believe he can assist to solve a case of rape that occurred at Stellawood Road in Umbilo on 26 November at about 2am.
It is alleged that a 16-year-old female was walking along Sarnia Road in Rossburgh to South Beach in the Durban CBD when an unknown man aged between 35 and 40, driving a bakkie with a canopy offered her a lift. She agreed and got into a vehicle. The driver drove to Umbilo where he allegedly forced himself on her, left her beside the road and drove off, taking the victim’s cellphone.
