Two injured in crash at petrol station

A car was forced into the doors of a petrol station shop.

AN attempt to stop a perceived hijacking left two people injured when a car went through the doors of a petrol station shop on a Bluff road in the early hours of Saturday, 24 January.

Berg Medical Services responded to the incident at about 3am after getting a call from the Bluff Community Orientated Police and Bluff Response Unit.

Two cars were smashed, with one having gone through the automatic doors of the shop. The passengers of both cars were injured. They were treated by the paramedics and taken to hospital.

According to Berg Medical Services operations manager, Mike Lemon, it is alleged a man, who witnessed the couple in the car that went through the doors fighting with two men in the second car, thought a hijacking was taking place. He then rammed his car into the others and fled the scene.
