In another incident, a convenience store at a petrol station in Higginson Highway was robbed of cash and cigarettes on Wednesday, 5 November.

A WOMAN and her husband were robbed of R200, 000 in Tern Way in Woodhaven Park on Monday, 3 November.
The woman, who did not wish to be named, went to a bank in Durban to place a cash withdrawal order of R200,000 on Saturday, 1 November.

On Monday, 1 November, while they were in the bank to collect the cash someone posing as a bank employee phoned the woman to ask her if she was still coming in to withdraw the cash. “I had a strange feeling, but didn’t say anything to my husband because maybe I was overreacting,” she said.

The couple left the bank with the cash and the woman’s husband realised they were being followed. A gold Toyota Runx followed the couple to a complex in Woodhaven. The couple decided to go to the police station. When they left the complex, the gold Runx blocked them off in the road.
Two robbers with guns got out of the car and demanded the woman hand over the cash in her bag. “It all happened so fast. It seems they knew everything about the cash,” she said. The men fled with the R200,000 cash, R1,200 which was in the woman’s pocket and a cellphone.
