Wellness day was a success

These Community Wellness Days will be held again and possibly twice a year, in the first half of the year and in the second part of 2015.

THE Community Wellness Day held at Austerville community hall on Thursday, 13 November was a success, with over 200 residents attending.

Special thanks to the foundations and associations who took time out and offered their services free of charge:

St John's Eyecare, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes SA, Arthritis Foundation, Durban and Coastal Mental Health, Wentworth Hospital, Malibongwe Seniors Club and SDCEA. And to representations made by Blue Roof Wellness Clinic, Sr Tessa Beaunoir-Crawford, Austerville Clinic, Sr Ingrid Katz and Women of Wentworth's Patricia Dove.

Services offered were, blood pressure testing, sugar testing and talk, vision and eye health and screening, TB advise and talk, HIV/Aids, nutrition and body mass index, audiology screening, mental health, social welfare and domestic and family violence.

These Community Wellness Days will be held again and possibly twice a year, in the first half of the year and in the second part of 2015.
