Sewage treatment plant treasure hunter’s body found

Police need help identifying man.

WENTWORTH SAPS are searching for the family of a man who was found dead at the Southern Waste Water Treatment in Merebank on 7 November.

The body of a black man, believed to be about 45-years-old, was found trapped in a screening machine at about 6am at the treatment centre in Bayfield Road.

It is believed he was searching for jewellery as he had a juice bottle containing small pieces of jewellery tied around his neck.
