Frank, Tom pluck chicken run spoils at Wentworth BC

The chicken run casual bowls winners of the chickens on Sunday, 9 November were Frank Greyvenstein and Tomcat Cavanagh.

WENTWORTH Bowling Club had a busy week as the South Coast pensioners league played on Tuesday, 4 November saw first prize taken by Colin Nicholas and Dave Mc Cann, while second prize went to Terry Micholson and Ron Addinall.

The 60/40 board went to lucky fish Ina Davies twice, and Robin de Gouveia won the pork raffle.

In the family and friends fun bowls played on Wednesday, 5 November, first prize went to Dirk Venter and John Swanepoel. Cora van der Westhuizen and Albert van Niekerk took the sportsman’s prize. The 60/40 board was won by Ron Addinall and Ann Bonthrone.

The Bluff Meats men’s pensioners bowls played on Friday, 7 November saw first prize won by Graham Bransby, Dave Carroll and Tomcat Cavanagh with + 9.

Second prize went to Luvoyo, Brian Smith and Buck Boettiger with + 2. The sportman’s prize went to John Somerville, Willie Gericke and Robin de Gouveia. The pork raffle was won by Tomcat Cavanagh. The 60/40 board was won by lucky Tomcat Cavanagh and Gerald C Royle.

The eggcelent sportsman prize was won by Brendon Davies and Bernadette Pool. The 60/40 board was won by Tomcat Cavanagh and Ellen Loots. The Kentucky ham raffle went to the lucky Tomcat Cavanagh who won a lot of prizes during the week.

Well done to the guys and girls from Wentworth who won the Wentworth/Assegai challenge of bowls and seven-minute lightning snooker. It was a good day of bowling and snooker.

The challenge board is waiting to be changed, you can now challenge anyone above yourself, so get on it guys and try get your names up higher on the board. Challenge someone and come bowl them over on Saturdays.

Events for the week: Tuesday, 11 November at 9am – South Coast pensioners league; Wednesday, 12 November at 3pm – family and friends fun bowls; Friday, 14 November at 9am – Bluff Meats men’s pensioners bowls; Saturdays – challenge games; Sunday, 16 November at 9am – chicken run.

The kitchen is open daily from Tuesdays to Sundays from 8am until 6pm. Breakfast, bar lunches and Sunday lunches are served. Call Ina Davies on 082-768-4644. There is a big screen TV for sports fanatics. Corporate braai facilities and hall hire is available, call the club on 031-467-7103.
