A truck rolled on the N2 northbound before the Joyner Road off-ramp at about 6am this morning (Sunday, 26 October). Metro Police diverted traffic off the N2 southbound carriageway while recovery operations were underway.
The fire department was also on scene. Recovery operations were still taking place at 7.20am.
Motorists are urged to drive carefully in the inclement weather.
The truck crash was one of several motor vehicle accidents that CEMS and other emergency services, including the fire department, responded to during the downpours overnight.
At about 10pm on Saturday night, the fire department responded to a car overturned at Umgababa.
At about 5.30am, a Community Emergency Medical Services (CEMS) tweet recorded that a vehicle had overturned on the N2 southbound near the Winklespruit off-ramp, injuring one person.
