Bluff brothers shoot to SA colours glory

Local teens earn their SA colours.

BLUFF brothers, Daniel and Jonathan Visser have shot to glory, winning South African Air Rifle Association (SAARA) SA colours.

Both brothers successfully achieved their KZN colours in a South African Schools Shooting Union (SANSSU) earlier in the year, but they weren’t happy to stop there and they set their sights on the SAARA competition.

At the beginning of October, 16-year-old Daniel, who is in grade 10 and 15-year-old Jonathan (grade 9) were both successful and returned with their SA colours. Daniel won two gold medals and is now ranked first in the country in his division. Jonathan won one silver and one gold medal and is ranked second in the country in his division.

The day before the SAARA competition, Jonathan also won a gold medal at Eskom SA Science Fair. His project on accuracy versus velocity in air rifles won a cash prize and a scholarship to Rhodes University.
