Bingo morning at Stainbank WI

Donna Cheilin was of course on form with her usual gossip and jokes.

STAINBANK Women’s Institute president, Arlene Greenfield opened the morning with the singing of Unity and then advised that unfortunately a few members had not been at all well.

Unfortunately very capable judge Hazel Demo fell and hurt her hip and Shirley Kruger is not too well.

Very good news is that Elma Doig is recovering slowly and members hope to see her at the next meeting. All the infirm sent thanks for the thoughts and wishes that the WI had sent. It was Secretaries Day this week so more than able secretary Barbara Illsey received a surprise from the institute and from the Southern Hills Group.

Minutes and finance were read out. Stainbank WI is solvent but could do with some assistance by way of the sales table. Come on members, you must have something somebody else wants, edible food always goes down very well. As it was Spring Day, all the committee and choir were dressed with flowers in the hair, which sounds a bit like Woodstock. Donna Chelin was of course on form with her usual gossip and jokes.

Stainbank anticipates an outing to Queensburgh Gardens and names were taken by Linda Hewer. After tea it was on with the game and it really was quite good fun with many members just waiting for the last number to come up. Thank you to Linda and her helpers. Best wishes to all the birthday members.
