A WANTED man was found and arrested for drug possession in Jacobs by Wentworth police officers last week.
Wentworth SAP crime prevention’s constables Singh, Brandin, Mei and Sullaphen, who were on patrol in Jacobs noticed a man behaving suspiciously as he walked along Shetland Road.
As the officers questioned and searched the man, they found 38 straws containing a substance believed to be heroin. The 21-year-old was arrested for possession of heroin.
He appeared in Wentworth Court on Thursday, 28 August and was denied bail due to a prior warrant of arrest issued in Montclair. He was sent to Westville prison, where he will remain until his second court appearance on Tuesday, 30 September.
“Searching of suspects will continue and those found carrying drugs will be arrested, charged and prosecuted by court,” said Wentworth SAP communications officer, Lieutenant Gumede.
