Safety campaign to mark Women’s Month

Safety brochures handed out on Bluff.

WOMEN’S Month was marked on Wednesday, 13 August by Brighton Beach SAP and a security company through a safety campaign on the Bluff.

Brighton Beach SAP communications officer, Captain Louise Le Roux partnered with Park Patrol Security Services to hand out brochures at the intersection of Tara and Gray’s Inn roads. The brochures focused on safety of women, with guidelines on how to minimise the risk of becoming a victim of a vehicle hijacking, house robbery and sexual violation and includes helpful contact numbers.

Clarice Sikakhane, Koekies Koekemoer with Brighton Beach SAP mascot ‘Captain Lollipop’, Lisa Beldon and Shanelle Jenkins with the brochures handed out on 13 August.

“I urge our male motorists who have received a copy of this brochure to take the time to read the content as they may also find these safety guidelines useful. Female recipients are also urged to share the content of this brochure with other women so that they may also empower others,” said Cap Le Roux.

“Brighton Beach SAP thanks the management and staff of Park Patrol for their active participation on the day and partnering with us during Women’s Month.”
