Pamphlet campaign targets women’s safety

Three hundred and fifty safety guide pamphlets were distributed to members of the public

Montclair SAPS and civilian staff visited a number of shopping centres on Thursday, 7 August to promote safety awareness in and of women’s day. Three hundred and fifty safety guide pamphlets were distributed to members of the public.
Montclair SAPS did various vehicle check points in the Yellowwood Park and surrounding areas. Officers noticed that many people had left valuables visible on the front seat. Capt Priscilla Ellappen says females are targeted more for smash and grabs. Women drivers are reminded to lock valuables in the car boot. “Nobody was offended by the SAPS stopping them. People must try and be pro-active in taking safety measures,” said Ellapen.
