Ladies get ready for the annual SPAR Women’s 10/5km which takes place on Sunday, 24 August.
The race starts on Masabalala Yengwa Avenue (opposite Durmail) which was formally NMR Avenue. The race moves north then passes the Blue Lagoon area and along the beachfront. The finish is at Sahara Kingsmead Stadium. Thousands of women are expected at this year’s race.
The 10km race starts at 8am with and the 5km race kicks off at 9am.
Idols winner Khaya Mthetwa will perform after the race at Sahara Kingsmead Stadium. “I guess I do my 5km on the treadmill at gym. I have yet to compete in a 10km race but I hope I’m going to run one soon though,” said Khaya.
