Deon, Gary climb on Bluff BC perch

Members are reminded that although there are no postings for mixed and men's competitions, for national Women's Day there will be two rounds of the mixed drawn trips on Sunday, 10 August.

DEON Maritz and Gary Moffat replaced Greg Dorrofield and Jorge Santos on the Bluff Bowling Club perch when they won the Bell any pairs this past Sunday on a score of 4+19.

They will be trying to capture the R2,150 jackpot up for grabs at next month’s tournament to be held on 14 September.

The first session was won on a count out by Tom and Maria Cavannagh on a 2+10 and the second session was won by Spider Williams and Mouse Ratcliffe on a 2+21.

The board winner was Ken Koch.

On Friday the Tony Hoggins/June Foster 3-2-1 killer was played and the overall winners on a score of 4+26 were George Harris and Andy Cloete. The first session winners were Dudley Dorrofield and Eddie Bingham on a 2+16 while Neil Smith and Dave McCann ended on a 2+22. John Yunnie took home the roast raffle and the board winners were George Harris and Allen Ritchie. George Harris also had the most touchers with eight. Bill Addinal and Derek Stevens took the sportsmen’s prize.

On Saturday afternoon there were two men’s competitions matches played, with Robbie Johnstone defeating Norman Robinson in the senior singles and in a men’s drawn trips match Greg Dorrofield, Dave Rowe and Mouse Ratcliffe beat Paul White, Jorge Santos and Deon Maritz.

The club will hold a bingo evening on Friday night, 8 August so take family and friends along to support the evening.
