Bush pig’s tail docked by bush fire

Amy has made a speedy recovery while at Crow.

AMY, a four-week-old bush pig, is thriving at the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) after narrowly escaping a fatal outcome in a bush fire in Empangeni on Saturday, 26 July.

The brave infant was transported to the centre by the Crow team, after a woman was kind enough to look after her. She sustained minor injuries and lost half a tail in the blaze.

The whereabouts of her mother are unknown, however, it is suspected they were separated during the fire.

Even though she has only spent a few days at Crow, she has made a speedy recovery and she is effervescent. Her stay at Crow is expected to last about a year. Make sure you pay her a visit at Crow’s next open day on Sunday, 31 August. Entrance is R25 for adults and R10 for children under 12. Gates will be open between 10.45am and 11.15am. No late entries will be permitted.

For more information on Crow and their work, call them on 031-462-1127.
