Not so cut and dried about verge tree trimming

The whole of the Fynnlands area is not represented well by the councillor of the Bluff.

EDITOR – In response to Mr Du Bois’ letter about the verges, where he states that the community are not to cut down trees on the verges but must be reported to the councillor or the municipality, I believe he is misleading the public.

I live in the Fynnlands area and it took me the better half of a full year to get some overgrown verges sorted and that included sending a mail to Mr Du Bois, who said that he cannot do anything, but I must get the municipality involved.

Eventually after six months or more the verges were sorted, but that was it. The trees are growing again and the sand and rocks from the bank on which the verge is growing is very loose. It will cause serious damage if there should be a terrible storm.

The whole of the Fynnlands area is not represented well by the councillor of the Bluff.

We are in need of a passionate leader in the Fynnlands community.
