Reward for return of prized canaries

If you have the birds or have information on their whereabouts, call Billy on 083-653-3058.

A REWARD is being offered for the safe return of three border show canaries stolen from a Geraghty Road, Montclair residence on Saturday, 12 July.

The birds, which are clear buff, yellow with black feathers and white with grey feathers, are valuable to breeder Billy Lottering. In his 25 years of breeding, none of his beloved birds had been stolen until now.

Billy, who was out at the time the birds were stolen, believes he may have disturbed the brazen burglars when he returned home. The thieves left small footprints around the garden.

“I feel sad about the theft. I am asking whoever took my birds to please bring them back. I will give them a reward and I won’t call the police or lay charges against them,” said Billy.

If you have the birds or have information on their whereabouts, call Billy on 083-653-3058.
