Five-million step journey comes to a close

Grant thanks everyone who supported him along the way.

GRANT Christie has walked over 3,500km and taken over five million steps, all in just 250 days to complete his expedition along the entire coastline of South Africa for the Wilderness Leadership School in Yellowwood Park.

Grant, of Six Million Steps, kicked off his adventure on the West Coast in Orange River in October and reached his final destination, Kosi Bay, located near the Mozambique border on Monday, 23 June. After being chased by dogs and earning himself a few scars and scratches along the way, he has achieved his goal which was inspired by a 23-day hike he embarked on two years ago. He describes his adventure as ‘epic’. The aim of the walk was to highlight the plight of the coastline including pollution and diminishing fish stocks. All the information collected will be used to improve the coastline.

Grant thanks everyone who has supported and encouraged him along the way and for sharing in his journey.
