WITH the help of community members, Montclair SAP’s Lt-Col Bhekizizwe Mthembu arrested a young man in his early 20s for a robbery in Higginson Highway on Tuesday, 13 May.
The young man had snatched a handbag from a woman walking towards the highway in Halifax Road. Community members who saw the man flee in the direction of Higginson Highway, flagged down Lt-Col Mthembu, who was conducting a patrol nearby.
Mthembu chased the man, who with the help of the public, cornered him in Higginson Highway. He was arrested and charged with robbery. He appears today, 15 May in Wentworth Magistrate’s Court.
