THE biking fraternity mourns the death of Des Pistorius (79), who died in hospital on Friday, 18 April.
Des and his dog ‘Boswell’ who rode along with him were familiar to many people.
Des has been a stalwart in the biking community for many decades. Through the years he was a member of Ace Out, Thumpers and Ulesys motorcycle clubs. “He was a legend in the biking community throughout South Africa. He was lovable, consistent and a dedicated person,” said chairman of the KZN Bikers Association, Marius van Zyl.
Pistorius’ funeral is on Friday, 25 April at the Old Apostolic Church at 16 Alamein Avenue, Woodlands. Bikers will meet at Southway Mall at noon and the mass ride will depart from the church at 12.45pm.
There will be a get-together at the Thumpers Motorcycle Club.
