Tree trimming exposes eyesore playground equipment

Children very seldom play there as the equipment is very dangerous and if a child injures himself.

EDITOR – I received a reply from Mr Silomo Mbutho from municipality parks department, about my issue with the city’s removal of the mango trees in Yellowwood Park.

He stated the intention of cutting down the mango trees in Yellowwood Park was to improve visibility in the area and expose the playground equipment.

I went to the mango tree area yesterday and took some photos of the playground equipment, which is now an eyesore. Children very seldom play there as the equipment is very dangerous and if a child injures himself, I believe the municipality could be held responsible.

If you look at the photos, I think you will agree. The only people I see sitting on the playground equipment are drunks and people selling drugs.

I would like to ask Mr Mbutho two things – could the trees be trimmed back and please remove the scrap that is called playground equipment.
